We need you!

Following on from the huge success of The Big Trunk Trail in 2021 – which raised a phenomenal £231,000 – we wanted to fill Luton with colour and energy as we release our loveable sculptures across the town once more.

The Short Tail Trail, from 6 July – 12 September will be a spectacular set of 30 unique brightly painted large hares and tortoises, and 60 smaller hares and tortoises, designed and painted by local schools and community groups.

The Short Tail Trail is our biggest trail yet!

To do this, we would love your help. We are looking for people to become our Trail Blazers for this amazing event.

Volunteering is a great way to give something back to the community – it makes you feel good and you will be making a huge difference to visitors’ experience of the trail. By being a Trail Blazer you will be supporting your Keech Hospice Care, helping to showcase our town and the surrounding areas and meet lots of interesting people.

We need sociable, enthusiastic volunteers to be part of this unique event. If you enjoy meeting and talking to new people and are looking for something fun to over the summer, this could be just the role for you!

  • Engage with the public
  • Hand out info and maps
  • Keep an eye on the sculptures – checking for damage etc
  • Support at events including the Farewell Weekend and Auction

No experience required.  Please note: under 16s will need to be accompanied by an adult.

To register your interest about being a Trail Blazer please drop us an email and we’ll be in touch!
