Our star gazing hare is looking up over the sky and space above our parish which is first mentioned in the Domesday book of 1086, by its original name of Segenhoe, approximately 500 yards (metres) south east from where the village now lies. The modern village lies on top of a Greensand ridge at approximately 350 feet (110 m) above sea level.
Our Ridgmont Hare depicts two churches:
OLD ALL SAINTS CHURCH originally constructed during the 12th century. The church was expanded over the centuries, however, was never fully completed.
THE NEW ALL SAINTS CHURCH situated in the heart of the village dates from 1855. The church was designed by George Gilbert Scott.
