Short tails…BIG VIP LAUNCH!

Luton’s Community comes together to launch the Short Tail Trail.

The Luton Point hosted the VIP Launch for the Short Tail Trail yesterday evening as our partners, sponsors, schools, community groups and friends came together as one for a last glimpse of the 90 incredible sculptures before they head out into the wild.

Over 130 guests from across Luton and Bedfordshire joined senior representatives from Keech Hospice Care, Love Luton, Luton Rising, Luton Bid, The University of Bedfordshire, Luton Town Football Club, and so many other important organisations.

Special guest on the evening included Roy Greening – Centre Director Luton Point, Paul Kehoe – Chairman Luton Rising, Linsey Sweet – Chairperson Love Luton, Liz Searle – Chief Executive Officer, Keech Hospice Care, HM Lord Lieutenant – Susan Lousada, High Sherriff of Bedfordshire, Bav Shah and The Mayor of Luton Cllr Tahmina Saleem.

We were also delighted to welcome many of the wonderful artists who have been instrumental in creating a bright, positive and inspiring collection.

Liz Searle paid tribute to the amazing teamwork from everyone involved in making this year’s trail the biggest, and hopefully the most successful yet.

The sculptures will now briefly return to the artists space at The Point, Luton before taking their places for the next ten weeks at locations in Luton Town Centre, Stockwood Park and Wardown Park.

Our FREE trail app will be available to download from this weekend – so check back for more details on this website, and via our social media very very soon!
