Name the Hare Competition

Could you name our trail’s first tail? Why not enter our competition to give our beautiful painted hare a name for The Short Tail Trail?

Visitors to The Mall, Luton over the October half term are able to visit the hare and enter our competition online to suggest a name for the trail’s first short tail. The winning name will feature with the hare sculpture throughout The Short Tail Trail next summer.

The design on the hare was completed earlier this year by local artist Sarah Harrison.

“I have worked with Keech Hospice Care on the Big Trunk Trail, elephant and The Short Tail Trail, hare. It was very exciting unwrapping the hare, and I felt honoured to be trusted with the important task of painting this creature to life. It is great how this fun family-friendly art trail gives back to the local community, brings people together, whilst also raising awareness for Keech Hospice Care. The team at the hospice are knowledgeable, approachable, friendly, focused, and I would encourage anyone interested in The Short Tail Trail to reach out to them, ask questions and get involved!”
– Artist/Illustrator Sarah Harrison, The Short Tail Trail

Sarah’s design depicts scenes and landmarks from the Luton community. If you look carefully you’ll be able to spot references to elephants from The Big Trunk Trail and to the tortoises that will join the Short Tail Trail next summer.

Terms and conditions for the competition are available on the entry form.
