Sculpture: Fast As Lightning
Alice O’Shea is a contemporary artist based in Hampshire. Much of her work is inspired by the natural world. Known mainly for seascapes and landscape, she also creates classical figurative, and portraiture works along with abstract works. “My aim is to transport the viewer to another time and place, allowing them to escape their everyday lives and find sanctuary within the artwork. To capture and bring us closer to the natural world.”
“My inspiration for this sculpture was the classic story of the Tortoise and the Hare, and how the hare represents speed – but just like lightning, that burst of energy strikes fast and is gone quickly”.
